Always on the lookout for up and coming events in my big, beautiful, diverse city... Here are just a few interesting upcoming event to share!

The 17th Annual Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup - Sept. 18-26: In Toronto anywhere land meets water, including lakes, rivers or streams. Help protect local wildlife and preserve Toronto's shoreline ecosystems by participating in this annual, nation-wide conservation event. A few hours removing litter from your local shoreline can make a big difference. In 2009, the combined efforts of communities across Canada removed over 160,000 kg of litter from 2,457 km of shoreline. To register as a participant or site coordinator, visit http://www.shorelinecleanup.ca/.
Manifesto Festival - Sept. 20-26 - The critically acclaimed Manifesto Festival of Community & Culture is 7 days of incredible events across the city (including art exhibitions, dance competitions, workshops, free outdoor concerts, film screenings, networking opportunities, seminars, a pop-up arts market, and more), culminating in a massive free outdoor concert at Yonge-Dundas Square in the heart of downtown Toronto. http://themanifesto.ca/festival/
Culture Days - Sept. 24-26, Various locations. One weekend. Thousands of free cultural things for you to do, make, paint, sculpt, act, sing, dance, write, and learn. Distillery Art Market - Weekend Outdoor Exhibitions, Sept. 24-Oct. 31, Fri. Sept. 24-Sun. Sept.26, 11am-6pm. The Distillery Historic District, 55 Mill Street, Parliament Street and Front Street East. Featuring up to 15 exhibitors in various outdoor spaces at The Distillery Historic District over the course of a series of six weekends. Come see a wide variety of exhibitors – painting, printmaking, ceramics, fibre art and more! Tours and Open Studios will take place throughout each weekend. http://www.torontoartscape.on.ca/node/927
The Clothing Show - Sept 24-26 - Over 300 booths of new local designers, retailers, jewellery, accessories, vintage, and eco-friendly clothing, including an art gallery and runway fashion shows. Local artists (of any medium) have also been invited to create a gallery and marketplace within the show, which has offered over 1,000 feet of art gallery space. Tix $8 online before show, $10 at the door. http://www.theclothingshow.com/
Black Creek Brews Fest - Sept. 25-26, 11am-5pm. Black Creek Pioneer Village, 1000 Murray Ross Parkway, Jane and Steeles. Price range: $20-$29. Enjoy various beer samples, savour local foods, watch demonstrations, and listen to great music. http://www.brewsfest.com/
The word on the Street - Sept 26, 11am-6pm, Queen's Park - 21st National Book & Magazine Festival - The Word On The Street Toronto is a non-profit organization that celebrates Canadian reading and writing, and champions literacy, primarily through a free, annual outdoor festival.
